Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University is back! Dave Ramsey is a nationally-syndicated radio personality who shares his Biblical view of budgeting and money management in a video class that has been enjoyed by thousands.  Kick off the new year with a new view of managing your finances.  Registration will start in mid-January.  A free class preview will be Thursday Jan 19th at 6:30pm in FLC, and classes will start the following Thursday Jan 26th at 6:30pm.  Cost is $100 per household.

This year’s theme is The River of LIfe. Some of us have been on the River of Life a bit longer than others.  For most of us, life hasn’t always been a picnic.  In fact, for many, life is a daily tug-of-war.  But we all have something to learn from and share with each other.  Join us as we explore the ebbs and flows of life on our way to discovering God’s peace like a river in our souls.

This year’s retreat will once again be at Sabine Creek Ranch in Royse City.  We are delighted to welcome back Rev. Ella McDonald as our spiritual guide and Jackie Payne to lead us in music.

Labors For Neighbors Mission Trip March 2-4, 2012

         Labors For Neighbors  -  Is a group of Christians dedicated to providing roofs to people who cannot afford the cost of a new roof.  But–   There is “more to the mission than the roof.” L4N mission trips focus on the 4 “C’s” – Christ, Community, Cooking and Construction. There’s a job for everyone. L4N encourages those involved in mission to be in mission, particularly Methodists.       The cost for the trip is $95.00 which includes your meals for Friday night, all day Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. It also covers the cost of lodging and a tee-shirt.  You’ll need to plan to pay for a lunch meal on Sunday.  You can find out more on the L4N website:   http://laborsforneighbors.org/home.html .  The Revolve tour is coming to Oklahoma city on April 14

What is the Revolve Tour? Since 1996, more than 4 million women have packed themselves and their friends into sold-out arenas across North America for events that are inspiring, encouraging, and fun. Every year, they come back for another event with Women of Faith—and for many of those years, they said (in pretty much these exact words), “This is awesome! But what about something for my daughter?”
In 2005, Women of Faith created The Revolve Tour as a response to those requests. The result is a one-of-a-kind inspirational event for 6th– to 12th–grade girls that combines award-winning bands and speakers with real, relevant messages in a high-energy event. Phyllis Johnson, our Childrens Minister, has volunteered to chaperone girls form FUMCRC to attend this event. Cost is 61.00 plus additional money for drinks, snacks and meals.
